Khadijah Maqsood is a qualified Solicitor at Paragon Law based in the Asylum team. She specialises in representing individuals from all walks of life, who have entered the UK in order to seek protection. Khadijah has represented many different individuals, thus has experience in representing multiple nationalities including Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Eritrea, Syria, Albania and Pakistan therefore has maintained up-to-date knowledge regarding each country situation.


Khadijah qualified as a Solicitor in May 2019 and subsequently joined Paragon Law in July 2019. She completed her undergraduate degree in Business and Law, followed by successful completion of the Graduate Diploma in Law; finishing with completion of the Legal Practice Course with a Combined Masters in Immigration. Her previous experience also involves representing individuals in various in other immigration matters involving spousal entry clearance applications, removals/deportation and extensions for leave based on private and family life. She also has had the opportunity to conduct advocacy for individuals at the First-tier Tier Tribunal.



  • Advising individuals on the ability to make a claim for asylum, including both Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) and Adults Claimants.
  • Ensuring a tailored approach is given to each individual, particular expertise in representing UASC’s who have fled either war torn countries/escaping death/state and/or non-state actors.
  • Advising and representing vulnerable individuals who have escaped extremely dangerous situations and have later been recognised in the UK as Victims of Trafficking (VOT). Khadijah has represented individuals at the initial and appeal stages of their asylum case including representation at the First-tier Tribunal, Upper Tribunal, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.



  • Interpersonal Communication: As a result of working with many different individuals including those that have come from an extremely vulnerable situation. Khadijah has gained a substantive amount of experience and is able to adequately listen and understand each case/individual and put this forward proactively to the Home Office/Tribunals and other third parties where appropriate. 
  • Time Management: Given her experience, Khadijah has dealt with a multitude of cases including initial asylum cases, appeals and extension applications. Khadijah has the ability to prioritise deadlines and use time effectively to ensure successful completion of each case.
  • Analytical: Having gained a vast amount of knowledge in many different areas, Khadijah has developed the ability to consider the law/regulations in fine detail and ensure that this is applied accordingly to each case, thereby working to the highest professional standards on a continuous basis.
