In this role you will be maintaining a professional reception desk at all times, looking after the front of house area, dealing with incoming calls and assisting with general administration. Due to the nature of the legal advice we provide, the majority of our clients are foreign nationals and have a wide range of backgrounds and as such there can often be language, cultural and religious differences. Therefore we are looking for someone who is experienced and comfortable speaking to and liaising with clients from all backgrounds. This role would particularly suit someone who has worked in a multinational environment or has worked with vulnerable people.

The successful receptionist must have the following experience/skills:
Essential:

Legal Case Administrator:

We require a good all-rounder to provide administration skills and assistance to our lawyers in the Asylum team. We are looking for someone who has the ability to deliver outstanding customer care in a busy multi-national environment. It is important that the successful candidate is an excellent team-player as they will be joining a hard-working, busy and professional administration team. This role would particularly suit someone wanting to develop their business administration skills looking for that first step on the career ladder, or an experienced Administrator or Secretary looking for a fast paced, contemporary role.
This role will be supporting the Asylum team with day to day administration duties:

  • Arranging appointments for clients
  • Preparation of bundles to court
  • Audio typing
This is not a traditional secretarial role and as such we are looking for someone with the following qualities:

Supervising Senior Caseworker:
 
Job Type:                                          Full-time

Due to internal progression, we are now looking for a highly motivated IAAS Accredited Supervising Senior Caseworker.
This role is within our Asylum team where the focus is on asylum and human rights law. The successful candidate will have responsibility for an active asylum caseload involving, as appropriate, all aspects of asylum and human rights work including unaccompanied minors, adult asylum claims, fresh claims, extension applications, appeals and higher court work. As a supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of up to 4 other asylum caseworkers at varying levels of experience. This aspect of the role includes legal, file administration and performance supervision under the direction of the team Director. 
 
It is therefore essential that the right candidate has:
  • Accreditation to Level Two (Senior Caseworker) as part of the Immigration & Asylum Accreditation scheme operated by the Law Society. 
  • Accreditation to the level of Supervisor as part of the Immigration & Asylum Accreditation scheme operated by the Law Society (now called Supervising Senior Caseworker). 
  • Experience of working under a Legal Aid Agency contract.  
  • Experience of having sole conduct of an active asylum case load.  
  • Experience of preparing appeals to the IAC (Immigration and Asylum Chamber).  
  • Ability to prioritise workload. 
  • Pleasant and tactful manner in dealing with clients, both in person and on the telephone. 
  • Use of computer packages, subject to adequate training. 
  • Eligible to work full time in the UK.  
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English; both orally and in writing.  
  • Commitment to assisting those requiring protection in the UK.  
 
It is also desirable that the right candidate is: 
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in any discipline in the UK or overseas. 
  • Has experience of supervising others including compliance with Legal Aid contract requirements, legal supervision and performance reviews.  
  • Experience of meeting both strict external deadlines and internal financial targets.  
  • Experience of representing unaccompanied asylum seeking children and victims of trafficking/modern slavery.  
  • Experience of preparing appeals to the higher courts, judicial review applications and resisting removals.

We are looking for someone who can act as an ambassador of the firm with excellent interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work within a team. The role will entail an exposure to a varied caseload to include: spouse applications, visitor applications, other dependent relatives, EU, British Citizenship and PBS applications. The successful candidate will be commercially aware and possess excellent customer service skills.
Purpose of Job:
  • To facilitate the provision of services to clients and staff of the Firm by
  • Carrying out client work in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Complying with the rules or codes of professional conduct as set down by the Law Society, Solicitors Regulation Authority and other Professional Bodies.
  • Advising clients on relevant statutes and case law.

Necessary Qualifications / Personal Attributes:

  • Client files to be maintained properly by regular reviews. Open correctly client matter cards, record time and bill promptly.
  • Assist Paragon Law in business development projects.
  • Represent Paragon Law at internal and external meetings.
Benefits:
1. Pay Scale – £15,000.00 to £17,000.00 /year depending on experience and level of accreditation.
