Sue Conlan has specialised in immigration and asylum since July 1987, working in both the voluntary sector and private legal practice as a trainer, researcher, legal representative and policy advocate.

Sue commenced work with the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) in 1987 and went into legal practice in 1993 until January 2010. From February 2010 until June 2016, Sue was the CEO of the Irish Refugee Council, overseeing the establishment of the IRC’s Independent Law Centre. She returned to legal practice in the UK in October 2016.

 

Sue holds two law degrees and a PhD. Her thesis was a comparative study of the response of Ireland and the UK to people seeking asylum.

 

Sue joined Paragon Law as an Associate/Consultant in March 2018.
